Day 9- lots of cool old stuff

My Aunt Mona is an excellent tour guide so she has taken us to explore some really fascinating and beautiful places in the Valencia area. This is a castle fortress over 1000 years old in the town of Xativa. It was built on the ridge of a mountain! I also included a photo of some olives that are growing on a tree in the castle.

In the town of Bocairent we visited the "cave of the Mores". Around the 10th century they carved out nearly 50 rooms in the mountain and for about $2 we were given free reign to explore it! (This is my cousin Omar). We also had fun wandering around the cobblestone streets and taking pictures of the old buildings.

These next 4 photos are from around the 13th century cathedral in Valencia (3rd largest city in Spain). 1st- me and my cousin Shereen in a doorway of cathedral. 2nd- the Miguelete bell tower. I climbed the 207 steps and then took plenty of time "enjoying the view" aka getting my breath back before heading back down. 3rd- view of one of the old city gates. You can also see the Mediterranean Sea from the top! 4th- Aunt Mona and Shereen looking fine in front of one of Spain´s many beautiful fountains
